Minted from 1878-1904 and again in 1921, Morgan Silver Dollars were designed by George T. Morgan in 90% silver which is .900 silver and .100 copper for a net weight of .77344 ounces of pure silver per coin. Although there are no mint-marks on the coin it was minted at the Philadelphia Mint. The 1902 overall (P) mintage of Morgan silver dollars was 7,994,000. The obverse of the coin features the iconic profile of Lady Liberty, designed by George T. Morgan. Her hair is styled in flowing curls, adorned with a Phrygian cap, symbolizing freedom. She also wears a crown made of cotton and wheat, representing America’s agricultural strength. Above her head is the inscription "E PLURIBUS UNUM," and the date "1902" is prominently displayed at the bottom.
